Webflow ads: sell sponsor spots on Webflow
Short answer
Add your keyed Sponsor.st script in Site settings → Custom code → Footer code, then publish. Webflow's free Starter plan does not run custom code; use a paid site plan and your own domain. Verify the published site, mark a placement on the live page and set its monthly price.
On this page
<script src="https://cdn.sponsor.st/s.js" data-site="YOUR_KEY" async></script>
Your key is filled in once you add your site.
Start freeAdd Sponsor.st to Webflow
-
Get your snippet. Create a free account, add your site and copy the tag from the site's page; your key is filled in.
-
Paste it. Open Site settings → Custom code → Footer code. (Custom code needs a paid Webflow site plan.) Paste the snippet, save, and publish your site.
<script src="https://cdn.sponsor.st/s.js" data-site="YOUR_KEY" async></script> -
Click Check under "Check the install" on your site's page in the dashboard (on first setup it's at the bottom of the install card). Added it through a tag manager? Use Check DNS (a TXT record) or Check file instead.
-
Mark a spot. Open the editor on your live page, click where a sponsor goes, pick a format (Banner, Card, Inline mention, Logo strip or Top bar) and set a monthly price.
-
Connect Stripe or Dodo, then share your booking page or add the "Advertise on {domain}" link to your footer.
Webflow notes
Plan requirement. Site-wide custom code is not available on the free Starter plan. You need a site plan (Basic or higher), and the site should be published to your own domain.
Publish after saving. Webflow adds custom code to the live site only when you publish. If verification can't find the script, publish again to every domain.
No div to add. You don't build the spot in the Designer. You click a place on the live page in edit mode and the script puts the spot there. If you move sections around in the Designer later, check the spot in the editor again.
CMS templates. A spot marked on a CMS template page, such as the blog post template, appears on every item that uses that template. That suits a sponsor across all your articles.
If Check can't find the script
- Saved but not published. Footer code only reaches the live site when you publish.
- Published to one domain only. Publish to every domain, including your own.
- Checking the webflow.io address. Add and check the site on your own domain, where readers see the spot.
- No site plan. The Starter plan doesn't run custom code.
Removing it
Wait until running bookings have ended before deleting the tag. Removing it takes the script and its spots off your pages. If your site gets visits every day, a running booking logs downtime from the last time the script was seen; at the booking's end, those days become a refund due that you pay from your own Stripe or Dodo account. Pulling a booking early also leaves a refund due for its unused days.

FAQ
Does it work on Webflow Ecommerce pages? Yes. The script runs on any published page that gets the footer code.
Can I style the spot with Webflow Interactions? No. The script renders the spot, not the Designer. Each format has a plain style that sits well on most sites.
Does it work on the webflow.io staging domain? The script runs wherever you publish, but verify and sell on your own domain, where readers see the spot.
